It is the year 2 of me re-building my reading habit, and I am very happy with the progress.

Few thoughts about my reading:

I don't prefer a particular medium. I enjoy physical books, audiobooks and kindle books.

I DNF-ed a lot of books this year, and I should do it more often and move on to other books faster.

I sometimes get back into DNF-ed books. For example, has taken me 3 false-starts to get into a book I enjoyed later.

My favourite book I read this year: Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell. Just delightful. I had read the first 5% years ago, and had abandoned it. Long, but worth it.

I haven't read too many "heavy" books this year - I will give this a try in the 2026.

There is a tendency all of us have to try to read "aspirational" books, especially when we don't read too many books a year - so we can make that little time spent reading worth it. But these aspirational books some times are hard to get into and this causes a catch-22 where you just don't end up reading anything. I solved this last year by focusing on the books I would actually read rather than things I want/aspire to read.

Good thing is that now with 25+ books a year, I don't have to be so choosy. I want to read what I feel like - and I will start to mix in more of the aspirational books, but also nix them quickly if I don't feel it later.

On to more books in 2026!
