Book Notes: A Murder on Malabar Hill, by Sujatha Massey

What I loved: setting of 1920s India, cultural details of the widows portrayed, Parsi families, and even the day-to-day dynamics of British and the Indians in various jobs. Definitely an engaging read, will read more in this series, has the feel of a cozy British murder mystery.

What I thought missed the mark: the ending of the core mystery itself, some arcs which had more potential - Alice, Amina, Mustafa, the context of British occupation (just after 1919 that too) was poorly addressed, and some details of what happened with Cyrus which I felt were just unnecessary.
